Day 1: Arrive at ferry or airport in Zanzibar – Transfer to the hotel in Stone Town
Arrive in the morning, by either ferry or plane. You will be met and transferred to the Shangani Hotel in Zanzibar Stone town. Check in at the hotel then depart for Prison Island trip. Take a boat to prison Island. The Island fringed with a beautiful beach and a coral reef which is ideal for snorkeling. You will have an opportunity to see Giant tortoises that were imported from Comores in the late 19th century. Beach BBQ then, in the late afternoon take a boat back to stone town then transfer to Shangani Hotel. Overnight on bed and breakfast so that you can take advantage of the local eateries if you wish for dinner.
Day 2: Stone Town Tour – Transfer to the beach in Nungwi
After breakfast, leave your hotel on foot for a Stone Town Tour with a short stop for lunch at one of the restaurants in stone town. Stone Town is rich in history and Swahili Culture , your guide will explain this to you and show you the old slave chambers, spice market, fort and palace. After lunch you will be transferred to Warere Beach Hotel in Northern Zanzibar, Nungwi. Here you will spend three nights, on half-board so that you can take advantage of the local eateries if you wish for lunch.
Day 3 & 4: Full days on Zanzibar’s perfect beaches – Nungwi
Two full days relaxing on the beach or take a day to explore more of Zanzibar. Excursions to do a spice tour, a visit to Jozani Forest with its famous endemic monkeys etc. There is also a dive centre at the hotel where you can arrange scuba diving and snorkeling trips. Based at Warere Beach Hotel on half board.
Day 5: Transfer to Zanzibar ferry/airport – Depart to Dar-es-Salaam
A final day in Zanzibar before a transfer to the ferry/airport for a ferry/flight back to Dar-es-Salaam. End of service.
