Tanzania's Northern Safari Circuit includes some of the most famous and remarkable sights in the world, such as the annual Wildebeest Migration and the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater.
This 12 day Tanzania Safari takes in the most famous safari parks in the north of Tanzania. It is excellent for both big game viewing and for birdwatching. There is also room for cultural visits and some history if you are interested.

DAY 1 - ARRIVAL DAY Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will be met and transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge. Here you will stay on a full board basis.
DAY 2 - ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE Your safari guide will meet you at Arusha Coffee Lodge, then you will transfer to Tarangire National Park, with a picnic lunch en route. Afternoon game drive in the Park, then drive to Tarangire Treetops Lodge, where you will have dinner and overnight. This is an amazing lodge with accommodation built int the trees. Great food and service amidst excellent views.
DAY 3 - ALL DAY TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK Spend all day exploring Tarangire, one of Tanzania's least-visited Parks, with a picnic lunch en route. Based at Tarangire Treetops.
DAY 4 - ALL DAY TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK Enjoy the fantastic birdlife and huge herds of elphants for another day, Based at Treetops where you will return for lunch.
DAY 5 - TARANGIRE TO LAKE MANYARA Morning game drive in Tarangire, with a picnic lunch. In the afternoon transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. Afternoon game drive, then transfer to the Lake Manyara Serena Hotel, where you will have dinner and overnight.
DAY 6 - LAKE MANYARA TO LAKE EYASI The sunrise views along the Manyara Rift Escarpment are always stunning - worth getting up for! . After breakfast eenjoy a morning game drive - you will see a million Lesser East African Flamingos which make the lake look pink! This whole area is a photographer's paradise. Return for lunch back at the Tented Camp. After lunch transfer to Lake Eyasi, home of the Hadzabe tribe. Spend the afternoon exploring the lake. Dinner and overnight at Kisima Ngeda Tented Camp.
DAY 7 - ALL DAY LAKE EYASI Spend the morning on an exciting hunt with the Hadzabe tribe - no two experiences are ever the same! You can stay behind them and watch, or actively take part - if you can keep up! Return to the Tented Camp for lunch, then you have the afternoon free to enjoy your unusual and beautiful surroundings - explore the lake and its environs with a game drive or walking safari, or simply relax in the lodge and its freshwater springs. Dinner and overnight at Kisima Ngeda Tented Camp once more.
DAY 8 - LAKE EYASI TO NGORONGORO Morning relaxing at the Tented Camp. After lunch, transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), and game drive/transfer through to the Ngorongoro Crater itself. Settle into Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge on the crater rim, where you will have dinner and overnight.
DAY 9 - ALL DAY NGORONGORO CRATER Early breakfast, then take a ranger and walk part of the way around the crater rim, giving you unparalleled views across and down into the crater. Rejoin the car and descend the 600 meters down to the crater floor, have a picnic lunch and spend all afternoon on a game drive. The crater is famous for its large mammal populations - keep an eye out for the elusive black rhino; there are around 17 in the crater. Most of the elephant you see will be bulls as females tend to avoid the area due to its having the highest predator density in Africa. As the sun begins to set leave the crater and return to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight. You can recover from the heat of the African sun with a refreshing dip in the pool overlooking the crater, if you wish.
DAY 10 - NGORONGORO TO SERENGETI Another early start. A full day of game viewing, starting with the amazing drive through the NCA with a short stop at Olduvai Gorge for a visit to the early hominid museum. Explore around the Ndutu Lake with a picnic lunch, then enter the Serengeti. Continue on a game drive through the Seronera Plains in the Serengeti, ending at Migration Camp in the late afternoon, where you will have dinner and overnight in the heart of the park.
DAY 11 - ALL DAY SERENGETI A full day to explore the Serengeti. Although predicting the movements of the famous wildebeest migration is not an exact science, you have a good chance of seeing this unforgettable spectacle at this time of year, especially in the south-western area of the Park. Search for the 'big five' as well as the myriad smaller animals which make each safari unique. Returning to Serengeti Migration Camp for dinner and overnight.
DAY 12 SERENGETI TO ARUSHA A final morning game drive in the Serengeti, then game drive/transfer to Seronera airstrip, where you will catch the 11.05 flight back to Arusha,or on to Zanizbar as you prefer. End of your Tanzania safari
