Honeymoons in Southern Tanzania generally start by flying into Dar Es Salaam International Airport. Depending on your arrival time you may go straight on safari or spend a night at a beach hotel in Dar. Honeymoon Safaris are often combined with a romantic beach location such as the Zanzibar Archipelago.

Just 7 days on safari will give you the opportunity to visit Mikumi, Udzungwa and Ruaha National Parks. These three very different parks will allow you to see and excellent selection of habitats, wildlife and birds. There is also time for some cultural tourism along the way of your wish.

The style of your honeymoon safari depends on your personal preferences and available budget. Honeymoons range from camping and budget accommodation at around $200 - $300 per person per night through mid range lodge options at $350- $600 per person per night to exclusive safaris at $1000 + per person per night. Whatever your budget we will plan your safari carefully with you to ensure your have an unforgettable experience.

Mikumi, Ruaha & Udzungwa Honeymoon

Day 1: arrive at Dar International Airport you will be met and transferred to the Mediteraneo Hotel on Kawe Beach. Here you can relax by the pool or swim in the Indian Ocean. You will stay on a bed and breakfast basis giving you the freedom of the excellent restaurant or the local pub.

Day 2: Transfer to Mikumi National Park. Here you will settle into Kikoboga Wildlife Lodge on the before having lunch and going on an afternoon game drive. The lodge is well situated with excellent views over 2 waterholes.

Day 3: Transfer to Ruaha National Park. Here you will stay at Tandala Tented Camp - elephants walk between the chalets and drink from the swimming pool! This is a superb camp with great food and service with lots of exciting game around.

Days 4 & 5: Full days exploring this superb park looking for super prides of up to 20 lion, cheetahs, wild dogs and the elusive leopard. Based at Tandala tented Camp.

Day 6: Short Morning game drive. Transfer to the Udzungwa Mountains NationalPark, here you will stay at Hondo Hondo Tented Camp (Hondo Hondo meaning 'Hornbill'). You will stay in luxury en-suite tents. A lively local drumming group will come and perform by a roaring fire for you whilst you have some great food.

Day 7: Hike into the pristine Eastern Arc tropical forest,looking for endemic primates along the way (Iringa red Colobus and Sanje Crested Mangeby), swim in idyllic waterfall plunge pools. Lunch at the top of a 180m waterfall. Descend looking for monkeys. Visit the site of endemic African Violets and see epiphytes and bryophytes. Dinner and overnight at Hondo Hondo Tented Camp

Day 8: Transfer to Dar in time to catch the 16.45 flight to Zanzibar Here you will be met and transferred to Breezes Beach Club. Great beach, superb staff. Half board so you can go on excursion like Spice Tours without missing a meal you have paid for.

Days 9-11: Full days on the beach - activities like diving spice tours etc to be arranged with the hotel as you wish. (Half Board at Breezes).

Day 12: Transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your flight home. End of safari.

Price from $6500 per person depending on the season - price may be altered by up or downgrading as you require - just let us know.

It is possible to change the itinerary for example you could have a night in Stone Town on Zanzibar - again, just let us know and we will arrange your perfect honeymoon.
