The town of Moshi is near to Kilimanjaro International Airport and at the base of Africa's highest mountain. Most people climbing Kili will spend at least one night here, otherwise this attractive but unremarkable town has little on offer, apart from the mountain view of course. Watching the clouds fall from the steep slopes to reveal the mountain in sunset from a rooftop restaurant

Climbing Kilimanjaro is an activity that features high on many adventure seekers 'Must Do' lists. It's the highest peak in the whole of Africa, it is the highest free-standing volcano in the world. The scenery is beautiful and diverse, becoming increasingly spectacular as you make your way to the summit. And it is possible to anyone with a bit of determination!
You don't need to be a skilled climber the reach the summit of Kilimanjaro. You don't even need to be supremely fit, although being in reasonably good shape and some training in advance will not only help but make the experience more pleasurable.
For most people who attempt 'Kili' the main goal is the summit, The Roof of Africa. And it is understandable why. Not only is it a great achievement, but the views from Uhuru Peak at sunrise are out of this world. Breath-taking - literally!
There are many other attractions too. From the waterfalls, caves and cliffs to the rain forests and increasingly unusual vegetation as you climb higher and higher.
