Children's bush skills courses teach survival skills in safe, controlled environments. Tanzania has a large variety of different habitats available including beach, forest, mountains and savannah and Wild Things will work with you to design an activity package to suit your children's needs, ages and ability. We start from age 6.

From basic skills like fire lighting and finding directions by the sun to advanced tool use, tracks and signs and water purification.

Short weekend trips and longer more adventurous expeditions are available depending on your requests. All our trips are designed, with safety in mind, to provide your child with an enriching learning experience and accompanying parents with an enjoyable break from city life.

If you wish to build your child's skills over a period of time a packages of different activities are available on request. This starts off with a couple of weekends and culminates in a longer expedition. For long expeditions and walking in big game areas, children must be at least 12 years old.

  • The programme was excellent and we saw masses of game, less a leopard! So, entirely happy customers. Thank you for your efficient handling of the whole trip.

  • All the Parks visited are really wonderful, especially Ruaha and the "king" Katavi that worth absolutely the long trip (at least in our point of view). Yahaya and Salim are like two friends.
