Tanzania's Northern Safari Circuit includes some of the most famous and remarkable sights in the world, such as the annual Wildebeest Migration and the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater.
A safari in Mikumi National Park is superb for both wildlife and birdwatching. Within ten minutes of entering the park you will have seen about ten species of large mammals. Mikumi is also an IUCN Important Bird Area and is outstanding for raptor viewing. Please note discounted residents rates are available.
Below is an example lodge itinerary (note other accommodations are available depending on your budget):
Day 1: You will be picked up early in the morning and transferred to Mikumi National Park where you will settle into Mikumi Wildlife Lodge, overlooking 2 waterholes and have lunch before going on a an afternoon game drive. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. You will enjoy being secure in your stone cottage as you fall asleep to the sounds of lions roaring.
Day 2: Full day exploring Mikumi National Park. Your guides will use the sounds they heard the night before to help you locate various prides of lions. Based at Mikumi Wildlife Lodge.
Day 3: Final morning game drive before breakfast, return for breakfast and packing up, transfer to Dar (lunch on the way). End of services.
Price from $730 per person based on 2 pax sharing. All inclusive of private vehicle and all fees. Exclusive of Alcohol, sodas and gratuities.
