This safari is designed to minimise road journeys and is great for birdwatching, game viewing and for landscapes. Because of the internal flight schedule some time in Zanzibar Stone Town is included - this is ideal for souvenir shopping and if you prefer may be extended to include a beach break.

Day 1: Catch the 9.15 flight from Dar Es Salaam to Saadani National Park. here you will be met at the airstrip and transferred to Saadani Safari Lodge. After lunch enjoy an afternoon game drive. Based on the beach this Lodge epitomises bush and beach safaris.

Day 2: Full Day exploring Saadani based at Saadani Safari Lodge. Choose from game drives, walking safari or boat safari.

Day 3: Morning exploring Saadani, Lunch at Saadani Safari Lodge. Catch the Saadani to Zanzibar flight at 17.45. You will be met and transferred to the Chavda Hotel (B&B only).

Day 4: Full day exploring Stone Town, B&B at the Chavda.

Day 5: Fly from Zanzibar to Mikumi at 14.30. You will be met and go on an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mikumi Wildlife Lodge.

Day 6: Full day exploring Mikumi based at Mikumi Wildlife Lodge. This park is great for raptors and big game.

Day 7: Morning game drive, transfer to Hondo Hondo tented Camp in Udzungwa. Here you will stay in an en-suite tented room. The Udzungwas are part of the Eastern Arc range and are superb for primates and birdwatching. This breathtaking ancient forest is an excellent contrast to the savannah habitats you will have already visited.

Day 8: Hike into the forest to the breathtaking 180m Sanje Falls. swim in plunge pools, see endemic primates and African violets. Lunch on top of the falls, based at HH Tented Camp.

Day 9: Activities as you prefer - choose from hiking the Njokamoni or Hidden Valleys trail for the Rufous Winged Sunbird or visit the Kilombero Swamp. Based at Hondo Hondo tented Camp.

Day 10: Morning bird walk, transfer to Mikumi National Park and, after lunch catch the Mikumi to Dar 16.30 flight.
